After returning from her incarceration in Avon, Blake has finally found the courage to embrace her destiny and take her place as rightful head of the Supernatural council. Her day which once centered around class and studying in the library is now is filled with issues of social justice, organizing the Giants general elections, and dealing with the increasingly complex issue of the Vampires.

But Forde’s parting threats never cease to replay in the dark corners of her mind, and with the stench of unrest lingering ever more heavily in the air, Blake knows it won’t be too long before everything they have worked so had to avoid will come to pass.

Determined to answer the question of her growing power and unlock her full potential once and for all, Blake and her friends travel to visit Gregory, a mysterious and wealthy strange, who claims to possess valuable information about her heritage and the location of Valeria's home.

But when their research once again points them in the direction of the Giants, Blake will at last have an excuse to travel to their Island and discover how this small, largely forgotten, race of beings fit into the intricate puzzle that will always be her life.
